The following are some photos of the dance team in action!
These are assorted shots of the team at some of the performances they do during the 2001 season.

Some of the team doing "The Santee"
This dance was taught to the Hoksilaska Dance Team of Oak Park, Illinois by Frank Webster and Canska Yuha, a Santee man. Canska Yuha said the dance was made up as an Opening Show by the Santee for use in dance demonstrations for non-Native American tourists and Wild West Shows He did not have a date of origin, but in 1966 said it was “pretty old".
We adopted "The Santee" as our signature dance many years ago and open all of our performances with it.

Scott and Bryan trying to 'out dance' each other during an Inter-Tribal
During an Inter-Tribal, dancer's can dance any style they want, and often try to 'out do' each other.
Brad, Scott, Damian & Bryan are "havin' at it".
Some times a group of them will get into it and try to out do each other. This compitition can be VERY energetic, but it's all in good fun.
Bryan taunts his brother.
Bryan, the Grass Dancer, taunts is older brother to dance harder.
This shot gives a good view of a Grass Dancers regalia in motion.
Damian "watching the fluff".
We do a version of a 'Fluff Dance" that requires the dancers to dance around a small feather, then pick it up in their teeth with as few body parts as possible touching the ground.
Brad and Adam during an Inter-Tribal.
I'm not sure what their watching, but they sure seem 'focused'.
We have a Powwow and Conclave coming in May. Check back later for more photos.
